5 Things Travelling Alone Teaches You

Travelling alone can be intimidating and the same time exciting. Here are 5 Things you can learn if you take the chance of travelling solo.

You will get to know yourself better

Traveling by myself has taught me a lot of things. You will discover the importance of following and listening to your own heart. When you travel alone you learn to push yourself in every situation, to meet people, to try new things and to see what you really love without the influence of others.

It will get you out of your comfort zone.

Traveling alone, getting out of your comfort zone is a challenge in different ways that will test your patience. But by putting yourself out there, you will be able to explore this beautiful planet, meet new friends, enjoy a diverse culture and way of life and discover new things and exciting places.

It will teach you independence

Being on your own, will it teach you to trust yourself. It will challenge your patience and ability to cope with obstacles and problems. But, travelling solo will make you a stronger person and help you grow as a traveler and human being. It will help you gain valuable skills and that will turn you into a more confident person.

You’ll find out that getting lost is amazing

Finding yourself lost in a foreign country or strange city can be scary and its okay, it’s normal to feel that way. it is scary, at first. But, instead of looking at it in a bad way. Try to see it as an opportunity to test your problem-solving skills. As long as you’re not on a strict schedule, getting lost can often lead to discovering places and unexpected adventure. I don’t know about you, but when I return from traveling, it’s often the stories of getting lost I find myself retelling the most to my friends and family.

You’ll learn to love yourself

This could be one of the most important things you get to learn about yourself when traveling solo. It will remind you to re-discover yourself, to experiment with your life, to explore what’s in you and understanding who you are. Solo travel can often teach you so many things about both yourself and how you interact with the world around you. More importantly, it can remind you that there is so much more to your complex beautiful self than what meets the eye. When you allow for an opportunity to be authentically yourself, it comes with the realization that deep within, there’s greatness.

There you have it. I hope you find this blog very helpful. Whatever you decide, don’t let other people’s sentiments of what traveling solo looks like hold you back. The idea of traveling alone can be daunting, I know. But it is such a rewarding and enriching experience that I challenge you to overcome the fear and give it a try. AUTUMN IN JAPAN | MT. FUJI | KAWAGOE SAITAMA | FUJIYOSHIDA | CHUREITO PA...

I always wanted to travel alone, never did I know that my first ever solo travel adventure would be travelling miles away from my country, the Philippines. Japan have always had a special place in my heart. This is my first international country to visit. Amazing people, rich in history and culture. I was a bit nervous embarking this journey because the last time I was in Japan, I could hardly managed to find my way home. And the thought of me travelling alone on this foreign land is kind of scary and exciting at the same time. I know everything will be fine, as long as I have my Wi-Fi with me, I can speak basic Japanese and I have someone in Tokyo to call on to when I need help.

During this trip. I’ve learned a lot of things. I have learned to trust myself in navigating unfamiliar places. I have learned to embrace the uncertainly of every decision I made, which leads me to more amazing finds and great places that never in my wildest dream, I imagined I would be in.

Japan made me realized that I am meant to be a SOLO TRAVELLER. Traveling alone is a gift. (THANKS GOD!) You will be presented with daily opportunities to learn and grow, and you will become closer to yourself as a result. No matter where you go and what you do, travelling solo will change you.
