MALAYSIA FASHION WEEK 2018

I am still in awe! Remembering my Malaysia Fashion Week experience. It's was mind blowing meeting, the famous international fashion designer Jimmy Choo.

with Jimmy Choo

Malaysia Fashion Week (MFW) is the nation’s premier design, lifestyle and trade fashion event, featuring designers from over 15 countries, which include Philippines, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam and Singapore. This year’s participants from our country are Randolph Keith Jinky Petalcorin of Agusan del Norte, Jor-el Espina of Iloilo City, Dong Omaga Diaz, Adante Leyesa of Batangas, Jet Salcedo of Iloilo City and Dodjie Batu of Davao City and Len Nepomuceno-Mortel a Filipina based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Two of this year’s Filipino designers are my good friend, Adante Leyesa and Jor-el Espina, so that sums up why I’m here and was able to witnessed this stylish gala.

Malaysia Fashion Week is organized by the local government agency in partnership with Malaysia’s private sector and collaborative effort between national trade promotion agency, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysia’s leading lifestyle fashion event organizer, STYLO International Sdn Bhd and luxury automaker, Mercedes-Benz.

This year MFW was held at The Boulevard Publika, Kuala Lumpur last November 25, 2018.

Before we head home and call it a night, team Philippines bagged the most important awards of the night, “Best Showcase of the Year”. It was overwhelming and we are so proud, with smiles from ear to ear. Philippines head of the Filipino contingent of designers, Sir Dong Omaga-Diaz, received the plaque and called all designers from the Philippines to come forward, waving the small flags I bought from Manila. What a proud moment of camaderie!

Truly, Filipino craftsmanship are world class. This year’s Filipino contingent of designers, showed a truly world class craftsmanship, that was widely love, and applauded by the audience.

Here some of my favorite snaps from that night.

The Hanbok Experience

Certainly every Korean drama lover's out there know's what "Hanbok" is right? And for some who doesn't have any idea well a "Hanbok" is a traditional Korean dress. It is often characterized by vibrant colors and simple lines without pockets. This beautiful dress openly seen on various Korean historical period drama series like Jumong, Jewel in the palace, Moon Embracing the Sun, Empress Ki and more. So it makes no wonder for avid Korean drama fans out there to wish to experience to wore this dress. Like me, I always wish to experience it, and while browsing the internet I found out that, the only way you could try this on is to travel to Korea itself, or rent it at a very high price.

Or if your lucky, Korean Cultural Center and Korean Tourism Organization in your country sometimes held events and they offer and allow locals to experience wearing a Hanbok. And I must say, I am one of those lucky individual who were able to experience it, by accident! Just recently the Korea Tourism Organization here in Manila Philippines, held the "Korea Travel Mart 2015" which from October 24 to 25, 2015 at the main Activity Center in Glorietta Mall in Makati City, the same area wherein we held our Habi Market Fair.

On the first day we accidentally saw the Kpop boy band called NOM. And on the second day the incredible talented Korean performer called The Painters Hero was performing. And while I was there roaming around, I saw some people wearing a Hanbok at the photo booth area. The eager to know me, asked the lady who was wearing Hanbok if where did she get it? Is it for rent and how much? (I was so excited and I don't mind paying the rent just to experience wearing it) And to my surprise she told me it is for FREE!!! Daebak!!!

Without hesitation, I approached the girl in charge of the "FREE HANBOK" experience, I asked her what should I do to avail the free thing, and she said I just have to log in my name and that's it! Awesome! On my head I'm like, is she serious?, like for real this thing are for free?. I'm glad the Hanbok fits me and to my surprise I look slim, than my usual size (hahaha). I thought this dress could look me more big because it has many layers of clothing but its the other way around.

It was such an interesting experience for me to wear the Hanbok. Now I don't have to feel this "I wish I'm wearing it- feeling" every time I'll be watching historic Korean drama because I know now the feeling.

How about you? Did you had the same experience as mine? How does it feel? Let me know and share your experience too by leaving a comment below!

Tine ;)

Movie Date Look

Tonight me and my co worker went out to watch "Etiquette for Mistresses" a 2015 Philippine romantic-drama film based on the best-selling novel with the same title by Ms. Julie Yap-Daza we watch it at the Podium Cinema. Being inside the Cinema may major problem is the air-conditioner and I make sure I have my scarf with me, but this time I did a little twist to my outfit of the night. Instead of using the usually scarves or cover-ups, I decided to put in use my Orange Banana Republic Dress Long sleeve that I haven't worn since the day I bought it. When I was looking at the mirror I find it too dull, something is missing and to add a little fun (which by the way my trade mark and personality) I wore my mini jersey dress with prints and use my long sleeve as a cover-up paired with my kicks. It was a perfect Korean look for the night ;)

Goodnight World!!! :)

And ohhh before I close this and head to bed. I must warn you that if your looking for a good movie that is worth your money. Then you better not watch this! And I mean it! Better safe than sorry. But if you insist then yeah go ahead and let me know what you think about it. Okay! ;) Goodnight everybody!

Pussy Cat Day!

I'ts been awhile since the last time I posted something for my fashion page, because of my busy schedule at work and sometimes I felt like I don't want to dress up. I've been wearing simple top and jeans for my ootd lately. But today I had the chance to dress up in favor of my friend who is selling clothes online and she needed a part time amateur model (LOL), so I volunteered which she gladly agree.

She handed me over this top with pussy cat prints, which at first I don't like, its so not me, I said. I'm not an animal lover and I felt like wearing this would not suits with my personality. But then she insisted and convince me that I would look okay with in, so I tried it on.

It was cute and I like how I look at it when I added some accessories and matched it with my super duper comfy white doll shoes. This cutie kitten prints make the top a standout choice for work or weekend wear! It's irresistibly light and amazingly fun to wear. And you would likely adore its flattering fit.

It's All About Blue

It's been ages since the last time I wore this dress. Thanks to myself for all the effort and dedication on losing weighs/fats and keeping in shape for the last 3 months. And because of that I am able to wear this dress now, but what make this dress special for today's #ootd is that, I made some DIY (Do it yourself) alteration. This was used to be a 4-layered raffle dress below the knee, that made the dress look boring and old fashioned. I decided to removed one layer to make it look more fun and hip, adding some colorful beads accessories and a head piece to compliment my KPOP look. ;)

What do you think? Is it a Yay or Nay? ;)

Reasons Why I Love Wearing My Glasses

It has been a month since I found out that my eyes are suffering from Irregular Astigmatism. It was like I was hit by a bomb when the ophthalmologist was telling me about my astigmatism and i'll be wearing glasses to prevent it from getting worse. I never imagine my life wearing glasses, I cried when I found it out, because I know its a hassle carrying them out of the blue and that society commonly associates wearing glass as being a geek or worst they will start calling me old lady because I have seen women/man wearing glasses that made them look older from what there age are. Whatever! But what really worries me the most is how would wearing glasses affect my fashion style. It's hard for someone who used of having nothing on their eyes on.

But as the days goes by I'm starting to love my glasses. My new look, my new fashion style and I never know that wearing glasses could be as fun as without having them. My glasses does not only protect my eye sight but it also enhance my appearance.

I NO LONGER EMBARRASSED of my frames, here are some reasons why I LOVE wearing them now.

FASHION ACCESSORY
One of the reasons why I love wearing my glasses is because it gives me another way to accessorize. And getting the right color, style and size of my frames, it enhance my natural features. So I am wearing these babies with pride! (now).

BIG HELP/PROTECTION
People take the power of glasses for granted, but the concept is incredible. Like for my case I am seeing clearer eye sight when I started wearing my glasses. I can now read, watch tv and work on my computer without worrying of damaging my eyes.

CHANGES MY LOOK
My glasses give me an entirely new look when I put them on. It does not only make me look intelligent and smart but it make me look young. And having them on makes it easier for me to look like a Korean with a cute head band to match. ha!ha!ha! Aegyo!

BRING ATTENTION TO EYES
My glasses draw attention to my face, people would always look at my face instead of my boobs. LOL :)

NO SIDE EFFECTS
Laser eye surgery is another option to cure for a poor eye sight. But laser eye surgery can have several effects and can even result in blindness. Contact lenses can also cause some infections, scratch or irritate my eyes. While glasses don't actually touch my eyes, so there's no chance of it causing physical damages on my eyes. The only pain comes with wearing my glasses is when the first time I had it on. My eyes hurt and headaches occur a little which is pretty normal as per my ophthalmologist said and if headaches persist I am can anytime visit her for check-ups.

How about you? Do you wear glasses? Which method your prefer to wear Contacts or Glasses? How long have you had them?

#OOTD : Santorinian Day!

I LOVE SANTORINI and my outfit today reminds me of that island in the southern Aegean Sea,  from the beautiful country of Greece. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera.

Beautiful Santorini! Photo grabbed from google.

What do you think of my Santorinian outfit of the day? ;)
