4D3N MACAU-HONGKONG ITINERARY | ALL-IN PHP14k+++
Macau and Hong Kong are one of the countries that is easy to enter by Filipinos with a Philippine Passport because it doesn't require any Visa.
Here is our 4D3N Itinerary for Macau and Hongkong:
DAY 0: ARRIVAL
8:21 pm - Arrival at Macau International Airport
8:30 pm - Buy local sim for internet connection - MOP 150 - Php 900.00/3 - Php 300.00 each
8:45 pm - Bus to the Hotel - MOP 6 - Php 36.29 each
*Note: Macau's minimum bus fare is MOP6 per person. If you will pay in cash, make sure to give the exact amount as no change is given on the buses, all of which are air-conditioned.
9:30 pm - Hotel check-in, Hou Kong Hotel - HK$ 2,098.80 - Php 13,009.69/3 - Php 4,336.56 each
*Aside from securing your plane ticket, make sure to secure your accommodation when travelling to Macau, as most of their hotel are expensive. Hou Kong Hotel is a budget hotel with good reviews online, a short walk away to Senado Square, near to bus stops, restaurants, convenience stores and other tourist attractions in Macau.
*If you are staying on this hotel, take Bus#26, alight at Rua das Lorchas. From the bus station, turn right, cross the street to find the hotel. See photo below.
10:00 pm - Dinner - HK$ 25 - Php 155.00 each
*We had Chicken Feet Rice Noodles. Honestly, we have no idea what we ordered. Everything on their menu was in Chinese characters. The reason we had this because there was one Filipino eating at this resto and we asked him what was he was eating. He said this dish was the restaurant best seller. With all honestly this may look not appealing but it tastes good. We loved it! But we won’t recommend!
10:30 pm - 7 Eleven - MOP 90 - Php 541.61 each
*We bought water/coffee/bread for breakfast. (This is optional)
11:00 pm - Back to the hotel, rest.
DAY 1: HONGKONG DAY TOUR
6:30 am - Ride bus to HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bus Terminal - MOP 6 - Php 36.29 each
*HZMB is the alternative option to ferry services which was previously the most popular means to travel between Macau-Hongkong vice versa.
*A short walk away from Hou Kong Hotel, there is a bus stop right in front of Sofitel Macau, take bus#101, last stop would be HZMB.
7:00 am - Arrival at HZMB-Macau Port/Immigration
7:15 am - Buy ticket - MOP 65 - Php 391.23 each
7:30 am - Departure
8:00 am - Arrival at HZMB-Hongkong Port/Immigration
9:00 am - Bus to Tsim Sha Tsui - HK$ 33 - Php 204.58 each
*Take the A21 buses bound for Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui. A21 buses are located at B5, beside the ticketing booth.
10:00 am - Arrival at Tsim Sha Tsui Bus Station
10:05 am - Buying a sim card for internet connection - HK$ 150 - Php 929.83/3 - Php 309.94 each
*A few steps away from the TST bus station, you will see the Chungking Mansions building, this is where you can buy your HK sim card, you may be able to haggle the price down as most of the prices were overpriced. Do note that, Macau sim card does not work in HK.
10:10 am - Buying metro card (Octopus) - HK$ 150 - Php 930.26 each
*Octopus card comes with a refundable HK$50, while the remaining HK$ is your Initial stored value. You can return the card for the refund or keep it as a souvenir. We keep ours as part of our memorabilia.
10:48 am - Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade - FREE
*Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade offers the most picturesque views of the famous harbour and the worlds iconic Hong Kong Skyline which is overly amazing to see on clear sunny days or at night when the skyline is lights up.
11:30 am - Hongkong Clock Tower - FREE
*Clock Tower, is a declared monument and historic landmark next to the Star Ferry terminals in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST).
11:35 am - Victoria Harbour - FREE
12:30 nn - Lunch, McDonalds - HK$ 100 - Php 619.91 /3 - Php 206.63 each
1:00 pm - Star Ferry Ride from TST to Central Hong Kong (Lower Deck Price) - HK$ 2.2 - Php 13.64 each
1:00 pm - Arrival at Central Hong Kong
1:20 pm - Bus ride to The Peak (use your Octopus card for the fare)
2:00 pm -Arrival at The Peak Observatory Deck - FREE
2:30 pm - The Peak Tram ride to Central HK (one-way) - HK$ 14 - Php 86.79 each
*The Peak Tram is an old-fashioned tram that still operates for over 100 years. Which carries both tourists and residents to the upper levels of Hong Kong Island.
2:52 pm - Arrival at The Peak Tram Central Station
3:18 pm - Train going to Quarry Bay "Monster Building" (use your Octopus card for the fare)
*From Chai Wan Station (5stops away). Exit at Letter B Kornhill
3:52 pm - Arrival at Quarry Bay "Monster Building"
*The complex is also known as Yik Cheong Building. Because of its photo-friendly symmetry and aesthetically striking architecture, this building is one of the most favorite spots for explores and instagrammers. This building has been used as a set in multiple film, including "Ghost in the Shell", and "Transformers". It's free BUT due to its growing popularity, public access to their inner courtyard is strictly prohibited to protect their resident's privacy. Quarry Bay is a private residential area. People live in these apartments and you're a stranger in their yard. So, it might be a little challenging to take your photo in the inner courtyard.
4:15 pm - Bus going to Lantau Link Toll Plaza (use your Octopus card for the fare)
*From Quarry Bay bus station, board the A12 bus, 12 stops away.
6:15 pm - Arrival at Lantau Link Toll Plaza
6:20 pm - Bus to Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre (Disneyland) - (use your Octopus card for the fare)
*1 Stop
6:44 pm - Arrival at Disneyland Hong Kong
7:00 pm - Train ride to Sunny Bay Station (2 station away) - (use your Octopus card for the fare)
7:05 pm - Arrival at Sunny Bay Station
*Exit A and walk towards to Sunny Bay Public Transport Interchange.
7:20 pm - Bus ride to HZMB-Hong Kong Port/Immigration - (use your Octopus card for the fare)
*Take bus# B5, (2 stops)
8:00 pm - Arrival at HZMB-Hong Kong Port/Immigration
8:30 pm - Bus going back to Macau - HK$ 65 - Php 402.82 each
9:00 pm - Arrival at HZMB-Macau Port/Immigration
9:20 pm - Bus ride going to the hotel - MOP 6 - Php 36.29 each

At
the end of the day, our Octopus card had still some money left, we opted to use
it when we were at the border immigration. We bought water, chocolates and snacks
to eat on the bus. Because we wanted to keep it as part of our souvenir
memorabilia in Hong Kong.
DAY-3: SIGHTSEEING MACAU PENINSULA
8:20 am - Walk to Senado Square from the hotel
8:40 am- Senado Square/Sto. Domingo Church/Koi Kei Bakery
*Senado Square or Lagro De Senado, is a 3,700-square meter public plaza at the Historic Center of Macau.
*Sto. Domingo Church is a historical church founded in 1587. This church is included in the list of the 29 sites that form the Historic Center of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
*Koi Kei Bakery is a famous pastry shop in Macau where you can buy your pasalubong or souvenirs. They are known for its Almond Biscuit or cookies.
10:00 am- St. Paul's Ruins
*They are the ruins of a 16th century complex and iconic landmark Macau is known for.
10:20 am - Macau Museum and Mount Fortress
11:00 am - Bus to Grand Lisboa - MOP 6 - Php 36.29 each
*Grand Lisboa, is a hotel and casino establishment in Macau, currently the #1 tallest building in the country.
11:30 am - Walk to Sands Macau to catch the free shuttle bus bound for Cotai
12:00 nn - The Grand Canal Macau
1:40 pm - Old Taipa Village
*One of only two traditional 'villages' that still exist in Macau.
2:25 pm - Lunch

After resting at our hotel, we decided to check the Senado Square at St. Paul Ruin's at night since it is close to our hotel.

DAY-4: LAST DAY IN MACAU

Since our flight back to Manila is at night, we left our luggage's at Hou Kong Hotel lobby and went to check out A-Ma Temple and Mandarin House. Another tourist attraction's close to our hotel.
8:30 am - Bus going to A-Ma and Mandarin Mansion - MOP 6 - Php 36.29 each
*Few steps from Hou Kong Hotel you will find the Ponte Cais N.14 bus station, take bus #5 and get off at Templo A-Ma bus station. See photo below.
8:40 am - Alight at A-Ma Temple Bus Station
*You will see a park and the Maritime Museum Building in-front of the bus station
9:00 am - Arrival at A-Ma Temple
*Is most famous and oldest temples in Macau, and is an exemplary representation of Chinese culture inspired by Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and multiple folk beliefs.
9:20 am - Walk to Mandarin Mansion
9:40 am - Arrival at Mandarin Mansion- FREE Admission
*Listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site, the Mandarin House is the largest family residential complex still standing in Macau.

Usually, tourist comes to Macau for a day tour,
their port of entry would be Hongkong, but for our case it was the other way
around. Because at the time we were booking our ticket, there was some sort of commotion going on in Hongkong. It was when we were departing, we realized Hong
Kong then was safe to visit. So, we revised our itinerary and visit Hong Kong
for a day tour.
Things to remember while in Macau:
- Always carry your passport with you wherever you go.
- Bring an eco-bag when shopping in Macau, particularly in groceries and convenience stores, because the government of Macau has signed an order for the charge for a single-use plastic bag in retail locations and it cost one pataca (MOP1-Php 6.02)
- Most of the restaurants in Macau does not have free drinking water. So, make sure to bring your bottled water wherever you may go. Bottled water (8oz-12oz) in restaurants cost around MOP7 to 10 Php 42.00 to 60.00.
Must try in Macau:
- Macau Portuguese Egg Tart
- Original Castella Cake
- Pork Chop Bun
- Curry Fish Balls
- Almond cookies
- Bubble Tea
- Meat Jerky
Travelling doesn’t have to be as expensive as you are imagining. If you can afford your life now, you can likely afford to travel. Just make sure to DO YOUR RESEARCH. Having an idea of how much things will cost you before visiting a place or a country is a MUST. Always, do your research beforehand; have an idea of how much their transportation will cost you, search for Anything FREE to do in the country you’re visiting to, including FREE admission for museum, tourist attractions and FREE WIFI.

Macau Adventure and a Day Trip to Hongkong | Bella Girls

Life was meant for good friends and great adventures. A year ago, today me and my colleague went to Macau and Hongkong for a holiday! I remember this was the time when corona virus just spread out in China and we honestly had no idea. No wonder why 95% of the passenger going back to Manila was full of Chinese national. We were so tired the whole trip but we really enjoy it nonetheless. :) This trip is definitely for keeps! ♥

JAPAN VLOG: Country Hotel Takayama [ROOM TOUR]
Country Hotel Takayama is the perfect home away from home in Takayama, Gifu Japan.This hotel is located right across the Nohi Bus Terminal which is right beside to Takayama Train Station. When you get off from the bus, you will immediately see the building. Aside from their perfect location, this hotel also has a KONBINI (are Japanese convenience stores) Family Mart at the ground floor, open 24 hours. Morning markets, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Old Town Street, Hida Kokubunji Temple and Nakabashi bridge are a few tourist location you can easily access by walking (10-15 minutes) from the hotel.
I was here last February 24 to 26, 2020. The room is quite spacious for me, got a single room type but I think it can accommodate 2 people in it. I was able to booked it online through Agoda.com for Php 4,024.78, not bad! It has complete basic amenities you can find in a room including a comfy sleeping robe.
Room is super clean and smells so good. Considering I wrongly booked the smoking type room. The only downside I had about the room was that the aircon was broken. It was so hot inside, thanked God it was winter time so I just slightly opened my window. So cold breeze from the outside can get in.
Overall, Country Hotel Takayama is HIGHLY RECOMMEND aside from their perfect location. Staff are very good, speaks English and really helpful and accommodating. Their Manager helped me booked a taxi who is going to picked me up at the highway on my route to Gujo Hachiman. Because taxis in Gujo Hachiman are booked a day before your arrival and they don’t speak English at all.
And If you’re a Filipino, you are most likely going to bumped into one of our kababayan who is working on this hotel. So far, she’s the only Pinoy here and she speaks Bisaya, from Davao City.

Yatai Dining in Fukuoka is a MUST-EXPERIENCE
DID YOU KNOW? Fukuoka is known for being the home of tonkotsu ramen in Japan. So, make sure to dig in when your visiting this beautiful prefecture in Kyushu region. You can find many tonkotsu ramen shop around Fukuoka but nothing beats the Yatai stalls in the city.
Yatai stalls are their version of Street Food stalls that scattered all around Fukuoka after sunset. Yatai's are tiny with over 7 to 10 people capacity to seat. You can't have your own table or chair while dining in. You will be seating in a long bench and eat shoulder to shoulder with other diners. If your unlucky, some Yatai stalls are jam-packed so you have to wait in line outside the stall until a spot opens up.
They offer variety of foods, from ramen, yakitori, dumplings, hot pot, oden and alcoholic drinks. Everything they serve here taste good and authentic!!! Prices are reasonable, dishes varies from 500 to 1000 yen per meal. My tonkotsu ramen was 1000yen.
Yatai's are normally open from 6pm to 2am and the best spot to find one is on the Southern end of Nakasu Island. Yatai stalls are situated next to each other and there are plenty to choose from.
From there you can go to Fukuhaku Deai bridge as it offers panoramic views of the iconic night symbols of Fukuoka, with many neons lights at night filled with visitors and Yatai stalls.

SHIRAKAWAGO WINTER DREAMS IN FEBRUARY
SHIRAGAWAGO Dreams!!!
For so many years of dreaming and planning to visit this magnificent place on earth, I finally tick Shirakawago off on my bucket list few weeks ago, on my birthday week. I had to keep on pinching myself because I still believe I was here, I only get to see this village on the internet and there I was, stoked on its beauty.
Shirakawago is a popular sightseeing destinations in Central Japan located in Ono District, in Gifu prefectures. A UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its traditional landscape and Japanese architecture style thatched roof houses called the Gassho-zukuri. It resembles two hands in a prayer position. Amazingly, these houses were built without nails or brackets. The whole complex joinery, ropes, and strips of hazel wood hold the beams together. They are sturdy enough to withstand winter storms and earthquakes.
This entire village made me never forget about every spot, it could have been nicer if I was able to see them full covered with snow, but unfortunately when I got here, snows were already melting. But nonetheless, Shirakawago is still enchanting and worth a visit. I considered myself really lucky because I get to be here two times, and on my second day, I get to have the village almost all to myself. There was no flocking tourists and I felt incredible calm and relaxed, listening the water running through the creeks, the singing of the birds, and the warm winter blow of the wind on my face. It was really quiet and peaceful and made me felt detached from the hustle of the world physically and mentally.
Shirakawago can be visit all year round, each seasons has different charms that would leave each visitors stoke by its beauty.
If you happen to come on this village, always start at their Observatory deck located on top of the hillside that offers a panoramic view of the entire village. You can either follow a trail and walk up there or take a shuttle bus from the station for JPY200 fare.
There are a lot of old farmhouses on this village converted into shops, museums, restaurants, and inns where you can spend the night. There are also a few heritage houses like Kanda, Wada and Nagase that open their doors to visitors willing to explore the historic buildings. If you only have few hours to stay explore this village I suggest you opt to visit Kanda House, as it is the best preserved houses in the Shirakawago.
As you cross the bridge and stroll through the historic architecture of the village, you’ll pass by Myozenji Temple built about 230 years ago. It also features the iconic thatched roof which makes it stand out from other tile-roofed Japanese temples.
As cliché as it may sound, I left a piece of my heart in Shirakawa-go. This is probably my favourite Japan adventure to date. Never been so happy being here in Shirakawago. There was no shortage of beautiful gassho-zukuri houses with incredible views and cannot wait to go back.
HOW TO GET HERE:
Shirakawa-go is easily accessible from Nagoya, Takayama or Kanazawa via bus. Make sure to get “The Shoryudo Highway Bus Ticket”, it’s a bus pass available exclusively to foreign travellers, which provides unlimited use of designated buses in the Chubu Region as well as airport access. There are three versions: two 3-day passes and a 5-day pass with a variety of coverage areas. This pass would saves you a lot as getting to one place to another from this region can really be expensive. Booked mine at KKDay as it is a bit cheaper than KLOOK.
Once you have your Shoryudo Pass your good to go. I’d also like to recommend going to this village on your own, because joining tour groups would not be as fulfilling as DIY, normally tour groups are always on the run, and would only allocated 2 hours per locations. Spend at least half of your day here in Shirakawago to truly immerse the culture and history of this village has to offer.

MACAU: EGG TART
A trip to Macau is not complete without trying this locally famous specialties called "Egg Tarts". This food originally come from the Portuguese but Macau’s version is quite similar, with a twist. It tastes so yummy, with great crispy texture on top, perfect for those with a true sweet tooth. My personal favorite! No wonder this egg tarts is Macau's iconic food. This delicious treat originated in Coloane in Macau but you can see vendors selling this all over the City. So, make sure to grab some while you’re in Macau. Price: 9 MOP (Php 54) #tinEATS

Yoshidaya Minokin: The BEST UNAGI in GUJO HACHIMAN
The best unagiii I've ever eaten in Japan. Although it was a bit pricey (JPY4,200) considering it was located on a remote town in Gifu Prefectures, but who cares!!! It was my birthday so I don't mind splurging something for myself that day. 😅
Their Unagiii taste really good! every penny you spent is really worth it! It comes with rice, miso soup, tea, a little of snacks and desserts. Their restaurant ambiance is pretty too! You can either seat on the chair or on the floor. Of course, I choose to seat on the floor so I could get the traditional Japanese eating on the floor experience.
Interesting fact about their Unagi here is that Yoshidaya Minokin Unagi recipes have been handed down from generation to generation, and still used today! Sugoi!!!
Yoshidaya Minokin location is beside their Ryokan or Hotel, in Gujo Hachiman old town's main street. So, make sure to stop by and try their UNAGI if your visiting Gujo Hachiman. Please note that the restaurant does not accept credit cards, ONLY CASH! (as of this writing). #tinEATS

How to go Hong Kong for a Day Tour coming from Macau via Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge
Want to visit Hong Kong for a day while in Macau for a couple of days and don’t feel like taking the ferry because your seasickness and your scared of getting drown because you don’t know how to swim? Worry no more!!! you can now take the HZMB bus! Also known as Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge buses. It provides an alternative option to ferry services which were previously the most popular means to travel between Macao-Hong Kong vice versa.

Here’s how we manage to navigate ourselves.
- You can take either 101X Bus or 102X Bus, depending on the location of your hotel.
- We took the 101X Bus as it is closed to, we were staying at (HOU KONG HOTEL MACAU)
- 2 minutes from our Hotel there is a bus stop right in front of Sofitel Macau
- Fare is MOP6.
*Make sure to give exact amount as the driver won’t give you changed for your bills.
*Last stop of these buses is the HZMB Macao Port itself, so no need to worry.
Once you arrived at the HZMB Macao Port, head straight to the ticketing booth, Fare is MOP65. Clear immigration and board your bus.

The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB – 港珠澳大桥) is a 39-km bridge-tunnel system consisting of series of three cable-stayed bridges, one undersea tunnel, and two artificial islands that connects Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai. The buses operate 24 hrs a day and depart between every 5 minutes in peak season and every 30 minutes in off-season. 45 minutes later, you will be arrived at HZMB Hong Kong Port. Head straight to clear immigration and voila you’re in Hong Kong soil!!!

How to go to Hong Kong Central from HZMB Hong Kong Port:
- Take the A21 buses bound for Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui.
- A21 buses are located at B5.
- Ticketing booth is right beside the B5 Waiting Area.

Suggested places to visit in Hong Kong, for a day tour.
Since we only had a few hours in Hong Kong, we made sure to visit spots and tourist attractions that are close to each other.
First Stop: Exploring Tsim Sha Tsui and Kowloon (the shopping mecca of HK) we had a relaxing afternoon at Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade Park, overlooking the beautiful panoramic view of Victoria Harbour.

Second Stop: We head to the Star Ferry Terminal, we saw the Hong Kong Tower Clock and a closer look of the Harbour. We took the ferry to crossed over Central Hongkong.

Third Stop:
- The Peak Observatory Deck - If your running out of time and wanted to see Hong Kong in one frame, make sure to head to the Sky Terrace 428 located at The Peak Tower, the highest outdoor viewing platform and one of the best place to see the spectacular panoramic view of Hong Kong. Admission fee for Adult HK$ 52 for Child (aged 3-11) and Senior (aged 65 or above concession) HK$26. Unfortunately, we decided to skip Sky Terrace 428 and just spent a few minutes at the Peak Observatory Deck as it is FREE and you get to see the same view.

- The Peak Tram ride experience. - This iconic mode of transportation has been going since 1888, that carries both tourists and residents of Hong Kong, it also provides the most direct route from Garden Road Admiralty to Victoria Peak via the Mid-Levels, and offers good views over the harbour and skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island.

Fourth Stop: Quarry Bay Monster Building (famous on social media for photo-op)
Last Stop: Hong Kong Disneyland. Too bad we weren't able to ride any rides because it was very later for us, when we get there. They were closing at 8pm and we arrived there around 6:30 pm. So instead of wasting our money for a few hours rides, we decided to just take a snap at the arch and call it a day.
